We now receive instructions regularly in pure insurance matters in both the marine, non – marine and aviation markets. We have advised on matters involving: marine particular average, total and constructive total losses; abandonment of ship and cargo; collision, fire, grounding and salvage. We regularly assist financial institutions and lenders on insurance and forms of security to be materialised to better protect their interests as Lessors or Mortagees under ship finance as well as aircraft finance and on questions of flag registration. Being often involved by Insurance brokers we provide advice on the legal aspects of bid procedures, share – profit agreements, co-operation agreements and all implications concerning domestic and EEC Competition issues.
Marine Insurance
We advise in a wide range of coverage disputes and in subrogated recovery actions. Our key areas of expertise include builders’ / ship repairers’ risks, cargo, charterers’ liability, on and offshore construction, energy, hull & machinery, loss of hire, mortgagee’s interest, political risks, P&I and FD&D matters, war risks and yachts.
